Hi there, dear reader!

Well, 2008 is coming to a close and the New Year will soon be upon us. I hope so far you've had wonderful celebrations with family and friends and that you're all ready to ring in the New Year tomorrow night. I have lots of plans for the coming year and next week I'm going to be sharing some of those plans with you because, really, if I don't list them for the world to see I may just conveniently "forget" about doing some of them. :)

So, with a party of my own to get ready for tomorrow night I have to go and start getting the house tidied up which, if you could see the amount of firewood bark Cutter has spread around the house, is no small task in and of itself.
I hope you'll come back next week when I plan on posting my 2009 Artsy- Fartsy plan and until then may we all bid farewell to 2008. See you next year!

The dog ate my spare time.

Hello dear reader!

My apologies for my absence this past week and a half but I'm blaming it on him:

He's a 12 lb. Aussie shepherd fuzzy ball of spazz and he's the newest addition to the zoo that is our home. His name is 'Cutter' and he's a smart little thing as he demonstrated his ability to grasp the concept of 'sit' very quickly and also figured out exactly where the dog cookies are kept (although I think Rosebud gave him a hint).

I've still been working on art, albeit much slower than I was, and am hoping that an art post is possible this Friday or Saturday (hmmmm, I seem to recall saying that before).

What I can say with certainty is that there won't be a post before Friday as the Other Half and I are celebrating Christmas on Wednesday with my family since my parents and Grandmother are off to Arizona on Friday for the Winter. Really, they couldn't have picked a better time to go either since the weather is going to go from crappy to really crappy this week.

We're having the festivities here which means tomorrow I'll be spending the day cleaning and scouring the house for any little "Christmas presents" that Cutter may decide to leave behind for family members to step in. This would include pieces of bark (that resemble little puppy doodles) that he pulls out of the wood-box.

So, with that in mind, if you'll excuse me the little devil is waking up from a nap and that means it's time to pee... for him, not me.

I'll be back later this week!

Happy Birthday!!

Today is July 1st and that means it’s Canada’s birthday. Folks across the country will be BBQ-ing, going to cottages, having picnics and family get together’s, attending community events that may feature music, art and various kids’ activities and invariably for many people the night will end with a spectacular fireworks display.

Canada is a super place to live and I wouldn’t trade living here for anywhere else in the world. From an artists perspective Canada is a veritable gold mine of inspiration with it's magnificent natural spaces, oodles of wildlife and ever changing seasons. If you don't believe that the appreciation for this great country extends from one ocean to another here's a list of just 100 reasons us Canucks love our country:

It's March 24th, and do you know what that means?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!

Wow. That was a bit self-indulgent, wasn’t it?

Who cares!? It’s my birthday and, if you’ll humour me dear reader, I’m taking this day to enjoy myself, eat decadent food and just unwind in general as I celebrate the last birthday I’ll have before I exit my twenties.

On that note, I sign off with the promise of an art post on Wednesday. There’s an orange chocolate mousse cake that’s calling me...
